MUZI SHARES SECRET ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR SQUAT

Muzi Maluleke a went on instagram to explain how it is that he is able to squat 6/7 plates easy.




The 212 IFBB PRO bodybuilder who is a Sport Scientist shared this training tip with his followers which provided insight into how he manages to keep improving his squat.




ECCENTRIC CONTRACTION 

An eccentric contraction is the part of the movement that forces the primary muscle to lengthen, it is also known as 'the negative'. It's the part where you are lowering the weight downwards.




Given that so many people only focus on the concentric part of the rep, Muzi touched on how important focusing on the eccentric contraction is.





"Alot of the times ppl ask me how I managed to Squat 6/7 plates. Truth is, if you can be able to improve your eccentric strength, you will be more efficient at driving through the sticking point (transition between eccentric to concentric phase) of muscle contractio of the times ppl ask me how I managed to Squat 6/7 plates."
