I got the chance to have a chat with Mens Physique Pro bodybuilder Tristan Van Der Bijl after made his Pro debut in Portugal over last weekend.  The bodybuilding industry in South Africa is thriving and is producing bodybuilding talents with world class potential. No cap! This new wave of SA bodybuilders is without doubt on par with their international counterparts and we can expect Olympians in the not so distant future. Someone who has just bullied his way to the front of the line is Tristan Van Der Bijl.  BODYBUILDING HISTORY Tristan has been a bodybuilder for many years now having been a Pro under the WBBF  since 2018. That organization though global lacks the competition and reputation that the IFBB Pro league  has and for someone with aspirations of being the best in the world the switch had to be made. Having barely had time to get over the major disappointment South African bodybuilder Sibusiso Kotelo has announced the next show he will be competing at. With the Arnold Classic Brazil debacle over, Sbu and his coach Jack Lotter are wasting no time in going for that Olympia qualification. What many PRO bodybuilders do is they compete in as many shows while they are shredded and in competition shape until they place well enough to get their Mr Olympia qualification. The Lamontville born GORA announced on Tuesday evening that he will be competing at the Monsterzym PRO which will take place in Korea in June. Only a couple days till we FINALLY get to crown South Africa's Strongest man  and t he Gingerbeast is holding nothing back as he looks to retain his title. Markus Jansen Van Vuuren popularly known as The Gingerbeast is a South African Strongman competitor. He currently holds the title of strongest u80kg man in South Africa, a title he won back in 2019. The Gingerbeast placed 4th at Africa's Strongest Man 2020 and also holds the African Deadlift Record for U80kg and the African record for the Apollon's Axle Clean & Press  in the U90kg division .
