Muzi on the quest for back to back Olympias

Bhekumuzi Maluleke just reminded everyone why he's South Africa's most dangerous 212 bodybuilder with a gutsy 2nd place finish at the Korea Monsterzym Pro. This after a rough start to 2025 that saw him place a disappointing 12th in Dubai - a showing where he looked flat, lacked his usual density, and just couldn't find his signature condition.

The Korea result proves the 2024 version of Muzi - the one who shocked the world with 3rd at the Sheru Classic, won the Europa Pro, and made history as SA's highest ever Olympia placer (7th!) - isn't gone. He's just been working through some kinks.

What stood out in Korea was the return of that freakish Maluleke structure - those cannonball shoulders, the thick back slabs, and arms with those peaking tennis ball like biceps. When he hit his side chest and back poses, you could see why many thought he might take the whole show. But he way always playing catch up - that front relaxed and front double bicep revealed some lingering midsection control issues that ultimately cost him the top spot.

Let's be real - in today's 212 division, every little detail matters. While Bheki's powerlifting-style training has built his incredible density, some experts are questioning if that no-belt, heavy grind approach might be working against his stage presentation. It's a fine line between maintaining that brutal thickness and keeping the waist tight enough to compete with the structure Keone and Nihat

What's exciting is that even with this challenge, Muzi is right up there. The improved conditioning from Dubai, the return of his signature fullness, and most importantly - that undeniable stage presence that made him a fan favorite in 2024.

The road back to the Olympia won't be easy, but if Korea showed us anything, it's that Muzistill has all the tools to hang with the world's best. With some smart adjustments to his package, this 2nd place finish could be the start of another historic run for South Africa's bodybuilding king.

One thing's for sure - when Muz Monster brings his A-game, there aren't many in the division who can match his intimidating presence. And if he puts all the pieces together? That Olympia stage better be ready for round two.
