How Much Money Hyrox Made from Johannesburg leg
Earlier today while scrolling down my fyp I came across an interesting pocket watching post from Fin Plan South Africa.
In the post the speaker roughly estimates how much money Hyrox Johannesburg made from the event.
The Breakdown
HYROX Johannesburg had nearly 8,000 competitors across singles, doubles, and relays. Ticket prices ranged from 1,500 rand for individuals to around 3,000 rand for relays, generating just under 10 million rand in athlete ticket revenue.
Spectator tickets at 175 rand each, assuming one spectator per athlete, added roughly 1.3 million rand. Approximately half of the athletes purchased a 300-rand photography package, contributing another 1.1 million rand.
After allocating a rough estimate 500,000 rand to photographers, the remaining revenue from tickets and photos reached just shy of 12 million rand, excluding sponsorships and activation fees from partners like Virgin Active
