Coach Steph: Dev will do classic at NPC African 2022

In an exclusive with gmanathi.com coach Stephan confirmed that his athlete Dev Courke will compete in classic physique and not open bodybuilding at the NPC African.

It's under 2 weeks to go till the NPC African where a total of 9 Pro cards will be awarded to deserving athletes. The best amateur bodybuilders will be flying down to Mzansi from all over the continent in a bid to earn their Pro status at what will be the biggest show of the year.

So I was speaking to coach Stephan who already helped Dylan turn Pro earlier in the year, and he confirmed that his athletes Barry and Dev will both compete at this NPC African.

Steph went one further and confirmed that Dev will no longer be competing in men's open but rather in classic physique.

I personally think its a great decision.Open bodybuilding is about fullness, thickness, and packing on as much muscle as your frame can hold. Classic on the other hand is more about structure and flow both of which are Dev's strengths.

If he was competing at open i'd give him zero chances of winning the card coz he's gonna get outmuscled by bigger guys. But moving to classic?? I say structurally his height and width will give him the advantage over most on that stage and he has every chance of taking it home.
