EFC 94: Nico Yamdjie Overcomes Sholto Luiters

Nico Yamdjie beats Sholto Luiters by TKO in the first round.

It was a fight in which both fighters landed some monstrous blows but in a ended in Yamdjie laying down the ground and pound resulting the the referee calling a stoppage to the bout.

First round

Two heavy handed heavyweights marching forward throwing bombs, Nico Yadmjie (39) vs Sholto Luiters (36) was all action from the moment the hooter sounded. Within the first minute both fighters landed a clean right hand.

Sholto then switched to south paw which prompted Yamdjie to throw a wild head kick which missed, threw him off his feet resulting in the big men on the floor scrambling for position.

Soon as they got back up Luiters landed an over hand right which shook Yamdjie and swiftly followed up with more blows resulting with the Cameroonian on the floor. He tried to finish but Nico regained his compsure.

A few more back and forth exchanges between the two resulted in Nick on his knees and Luiters throwing a barrage of punches. Luiters got loose and too close, Nico was able to take do a double leg take down and landed on top of Sholto - this was the beginning of the end.

In a full guard position, Yamdjie started landing hammer after hammer on his opponents face with very little resistance - ref had to put an end to it.
